Conduct Unbecoming a Captain.
Sources have revealed that Captain Mek'tor of the USS Cambrian has been recalled to Starbase 326 to attend a Court of Inquiry into an incident that occurred aboard the Nebula-class vessel.
Details are sketchy, but it appears that the Captain; a Klingon of distinguished service, emerged from his Ready Room in an inebriated state and fell face first onto the floor of the bridge. The incident was witnessed by the entire bridge crew and the matter has found its way to the corridors of power.
With the history of the USS Cambrian, a vessel that was famed for its colourful Captains and rule-breaking attitude, Starfleet Command was not prepared to overlook this incident. In the past the Cambrian has been commanded by; amongst others, Captain Rupert Banks, a human known for his eccentric command style and Captain Selene von Corvass, a Valkeen who was also fond of over-indulging in alcoholic beverages. It was believed by Command that Captain Mekātor had begun to reform the bad habits prevalent aboard the Cambrian, but this incident has cast doubts over whether the ship and her crew can ever shake off their reputation as a vessel fuelled by drink.
It has not been revealed what the outcome of the hearing was, but however it turns out, it is apparent that Starfleet Command is keeping a close eye on the activities of the Cambrian's crews, and that no further unscrupulous behaviour will be tolerated aboard this vessel.
