Among other Bolian officials, the Federation Parliamentary Secretary for Trade, Toran Blix, admitted to having covered up ties to a dubious research project of the Bolian Mitena Institute in a court of law earlier this week.

Five months ago, while enroute to Nausicaa to continue diplomatic talks which had been stalled by both Nausicaans and Bolians for over a year, the USS Saturn took a detour to investigate the supposed attack on a freighter near a Bolian mining operation which had repeatedly been raided by Nausicaan pirates. During the course of their investigation that revealed that the incident had been staged by the Bolians, the crew were able to gather invaluable information and find witnesses that made profound accusations against both the Bolian institute and the government of Bolarus.

The accusations were proven to be true. It was not the only scandalous revelation during the trial, but by far the most shocking - the Mitena Institute was evidently involved in the research of a bio-genetic weapon targeted at Nausicaans. Had the work been completed, the weapon were to be employed on a large scale in a wide area of space along the Federation border in the Beta Quadrant.

While most sentences in the case are still pending announcement, it's already becoming clear that this affair will put a rather inglorious end to the storybook career of one Toran Blix. A spokesperson for the Trade Secretary has refused to comment on the matter.
