Senate Chambers, UFP HQ

As we all know, the Senate is responsible for the administration of the Fleet. Proposals are submitted, discussed, and decided upon. Unfortunately, nearly all of these decisions are never really made public to the members of the Fleet. It is certain that everything is put into action following the appropriate decisions, but where can a crewperson find this information?

During the first weeks of April, the Senate was been in deliberations with a revolutionary proposal. After minor modifications to the original, Motion 410 was approved and put into place on 13 April 2010. This motion creates provisions for the publication of the activities of the Senate, with regards to changes of policy, procedures, and regulations.

Certain activities are not for public consumption and can be closed to the public by vote of the Senate. These include, but are not limited to, topics such as player bans, revocation of Command positions (CO and/or XO of a simulation), and other such sensitive items.

As a result, the Fleet Command Senate page on Memory Zeta has been updated as follows:

1) A link added at the top, "Duly Designated Representatives of the Fleet," which directs the viewer to a table that will contain an updated listing of Fleet Senators. Expect this to be up to date by the end of May.

2) A trio of links under the new section "Activities of the Senate," which will follow the motions of the Senate as they progress. Motions prior to 410 will be added to the "Closed Proposals" archives when time permits.

Updates will be posted both to the Memory Zeta site as well as articles posted to the FNN.
