All-

It is that time of year again - as of today, Sixth Fleet is four years old! It has been my pleasure to serve a fleet of friends whom I enjoy writing alongside. Here's to many more years of simming!

I'm not very good with speeches (LOL), so, without further ado:

Before I get into the shinies, I have a small announcement. As an anniversary present this year I have created a "Risa" section of our forum. Feel free to pop in there and post! This will be a permanent in-character addition to the forums where everyone and anyone with an approved character can post. Your characters can be inactive or unassigned, but they must still be alive. ;) The forum will also be available for any simulation who wishes to spend Shoreleave there. This is different than the freeform Holodeck as it is set on Risa specifically as a fleet-wide shoreleave location.

So, if you have not done so yet, register at our forums and post! http://www.sixth-fleet.com/forum/

Now, for the shinies!

For this year's Meritorious Unit Award I am choosing a simulation who has had a somewhat rocky history. Between the Fleet Split and command shake-ups, this simulation hasn't had it very easy. However, over the past few years it has stabilized and thrived, thanks to the skilled leadership of the command team, and the dedication of her crew.

With this in mind, I am pleased to announce that the recipient of this year's Meritorious Unit Award is the USS Oberon! Congratulations!

The first award goes to a command team who has taken a languising sim and restarted it with a new twist. I have seen excitement over this sim build exponentially as the idea was rounded out. If the recent posting is any indication, this sim has a bright future. This month's posting has been more than the previous three combined!

It is with immense pleasure that I award the Croix D'Guerre to Piotr Mierzejewski and Shannon Largent of Bravo Company! Congratulations!

Next, I have an individual who is arguably one of the hardest working CO's I have ever met. Between an incredibly detailed and fleshed-out area of operations and a dedication seen in few others, this simulation continues to thrive with an average post count that humbles most other simulations. This individual also contributes wherever possible, including helping me out when I am in a pickle. LOL.

It is with immense pleasure that I award the Starfleet Star to Nathalie Chapman of the USS Poseidon! In addition, I hereby promote her to Rear Admiral! Congratulations!

This next award is for an individual who has worked behind the scenes and improved our fleet as a whole. Between his own simulation, fleet resources, and our website, he has great dedication and skill. We also thank him for providing hosting for the Sixth Fleet websites. In addition, I beleive there are even more projects in the works!

It is with immense pleasure that I award the Sixth Fleet Cluster to Moritz Kraft of the USS Saturn! Congratulations!

Our next individual has put in no less effort into the fleet resources. In fact, our news network and database wouldn't be the same without his tireless dedication and support. While he has been a Commanding Officer for only a short time, he has been a skilled leader and writer for as long as he has been a member of the fleet.

It is with immense pleasure that I award the Captain's Star to Steve Tranter of the USS Athena! In addition, I hereby promote him to Captain! Congratulations!

I have one final award to give. To be honest, this is a long time in coming. Our last individual has contributed immensely to his simulation and to the fleet. His dedication to his simulation is tireless, whether as Second Officer, Executive Officer, or Commanding Officer. The fact he is still a mere commander is an affront to nature! LOL.

It is with immense pleasure that I hereby promote Charles Jenkinson of the USS Hyperion to Captain! Congratulations!

And for my final words this anniversary,

Happy Birthday, Sixth Fleet!
