"Over the last few missions, we have been working to introduce a recurring enemy into the Saturn's story universe. For the current mission we decided to explore some of the early history of this recurring enemy, and actually took the whole crew back to mankind's first contact with them. On a plain, in the past, in stone age Africa.

It's been interesting, and actually quite hard, as we try to write posts in a completely different setting to the Trek norms. Then add to this characters who cannot verbally communicate, as language has not been invented yet. It creates a very different writing environment to the usual one found on the Saturn.

We're currently coming to the close of this mission, with our crew having witnessed the first contact between our baddies and mankind, and as an experiment, it's proven mostly successful. Some of the crew jumped in with both feet and really made an attempt to get into the mission, others found it more difficult. However, on the whole, it's been an enjoyable experience - both as a writer, and as a member of the USS Saturn."
