Aboard the USS Athena we've had a succession of Commanding Officers in rapid order.
Captain Ander Ordonis was kidnapped by Romulans, and is MIA after surrendering himself to the Tal Shiar. Captain Baruk was CO for only 2 missions, before Star Fleet Command promoted him to Commodore with a ground assignment. Commander Douglas Makgill assumed the post of Commanding Officer just a few days ago.

The Athena's last deployment prompted a Temporal Investigation. While investigating an energy surge in the Travant system, a previously uncatalogued race, the Dogosi, was found in cryogenic suspension. We found the "cold storage" was used because the natives sleep through the long heat cycle of their home moon, since they are cold-adapted and don't want to leave their native soil.

The gear keeping them in hibernation was so old it malfunctioned. A Chronoton surge sent the Athena back to 2342, where the Enterprise C was nearly destroyed by Tholians. Knowing from history records that the flag ship was destroyed defending Klingon interests in 2344, the crew had to develop and execute a plan to preserve the Ambassador classed Enterprise without mangling the time line. Once the flag ship limped off for a full retrofit, the Athena returned to 2386, and was ordered to Earth. It appears the Chief Engineer, Alex Jackson, was promoted from Master Chief Petty Officer to the rank of Lieutenant. Command is still making its final determination on this "incident".
